Stalybridge - Midweek Walk - Wednesday 18th August

A great walk on the hills above Stalybridge.

Starting at Stalybridge country park we headed up towards the reservoirs. After Swineshaw reservoir we followed the Pennine bridleway over to Arnfield reservoir where we had our lunch stop. There was a lovely cafe with a balcony jutting out over the reservoir, which if we hadn't got our own packed lunches, would have been a great spot. From there we followed the Tameside trail up through Swallow wood nature reserve, before heading onto Hollingworthall Moor to the summit of Wild Bank Hill. Sadly due to the low cloud we didn't get the views worthy of such a fantastic route.

Peter did a great job leading his first walk for the club. Everybody was in agreement that it would be great to do the walk again in better weather, so look out for it in a future programme!
