Why Join Warrington HF Ramblers
Most of our members are from Warrington and its surrounding areas. However we do have some members who live further afield. There is no restriction, everybody is welcome!
There are no age restrictions, so whether you are young or older, working or retired, it doesn't matter, everyone is welcome.
Great Walk Programme
We provide a wide variety of walks, so something for everybody, from fairly short low level rambles to more long distance challenging hikes.
We have midweek walks and weekend walks all through the year, and in the summer we have evening walks as well
Friendly and Sociable
We have a few social events, including meals out and a Christmas party, and some of our midweek walks finish with a pub lunch!
We organise a couple of weekend breaks each year, staying in hotels and with a choice of walks on each day.
Easy Access To Great walking areas
We are well placed for easy access to stunning countryside.
Our walks can be anywhere within a reasonable travelling distance from Warrington, including Cheshire, North Wales, Lancashire, Greater Manchester, and even the Lake District, Peak District, Shropshire and Yorkshire.
Transport to our walk start points is up to the individual members. You can drive yourself there, but we also encourage car sharing, so we have a meet point in Warrington where those who want to car share, or don't drive, can meet up.

If you like the sound of one of our walks and think you'd like to try one, you are more than welcome to come for a trial run. You can join us for up to three walks to see if it is for you before you decide to join. You will be introduced to the group by the walk leader and everyone will make you feel very welcome.
Wednesday day walks every two weeks, which are typically easy to moderate level, 6 - 10 miles and usually minimal ascent, but occasionally up to 1,000 feet height gain
Wednesday evening walks every two weeks (April - September only) which are typically more local and 4 - 5 miles with minimal ascent
Weekend walks every two weeks, alternating between Saturdays & Sundays. These are typically moderate level walks, 9 - 12 miles and 1,000 to 1,800 feet height gain
Higher grade walks (April - September only) which are more challenging, 9 -14 miles and typically greater than 2,000 feet of height gain.
